Victoria School, one of the oldest schools of Delhi, was established on 20-07-1868 by the UNITED SOCIETY OF ENGLAND for the propagation of Gospel. At that time the school was being run by Christian Missionaries. It was named after the name of the then Queen of England, Queen Victoria. Primarily the school was established to educate poor girls in the pre Independence era.

Since the time the Missionaries left India, the school is being run by the Diocese of Delhi, CNI (Church of North India) . In 1940, the school got recognition as a middle school and was registered as VICTORIA ANGLO VERNACULAR MIDDLE SCHOOL. In 1942, it got first Grant-In-Aid from the Government and became a Christian Minority Aided School. It became a high school in 1952 and higher secondary in 1960. The school took its present form in 1977 with upgradation to Senior Secondary level and then named as VICTORIA GIRLS SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

Mrs. KC Jospeh became the First Principal of the school. The school feels proud to declare that in 146th running year, the present Principal Mrs. G.F. Sampson is only the third principal of the school.
